raising resilient kids, children's books about resilience, parenting tips, outdoor activities for kids, shuswap family activities
Resilience isn't something kids are born with—it's something they learn.
In a world of instant gratification, constant screens, and helicopter parenting, raising kids who can bounce back from challenges feels harder than ever. But what if the answer isn't more therapy apps or structured activities? What if it's simpler: more outdoor adventure, more community connection, and more stories that show kids what resilience looks like?
As parents ourselves—and creators of the Raven Ryda children's book series—we've spent years watching how the Shuswap lifestyle shapes kids. We've seen timid children become confident explorers. We've watched kids face fears, help friends, and discover strengths they didn't know they had.
This isn't theory. This is what happens when you combine outdoor adventure, community values, and stories that inspire. Here's how to raise resilient kids, Shuswap style.
Let's be honest: most workout clothes are designed to last about six months.
The leggings start pilling after three washes. The seams unravel mid-squat. The "moisture-wicking" fabric holds onto sweat like a sponge. And don't get us started on the see-through situation during downward dog.
At Raven 425 Rise Above, we got tired of buying expensive activewear that couldn't survive a real workout—let alone the Shuswap lifestyle of hiking, paddling, and outdoor adventure.
So we built something different.
Our apparel is designed in Scotch Creek, BC, tested by real athletes, and built to last through years of workouts, washes, and wilderness adventures. Here's why Raven 425 apparel is built different—and why it might be the last workout gear you need to buy.
